Katey Taylor is a writer and a poet whose poems have appeared in Dark Lit magazine, Brave Voices magazine, and Fauxmoir. She has been interviewed by the Just Us Girls Blog and has served as a SWAAY magazine contributor, where her personal essay “When First Loves Becomes First Abuse” was selected as an editor’s weekly pick. She a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and has self-published two novels: Inebriated (4 star rating on Amazon) and Neon Nights (5 star rating on Amazon), which have sold roughly 1,500 copies. Katey’s are available online wherever books are sold, on her website (www.kateytaylor.com), in a few local brick-and-mortar stores like Books Inc. in Alameda, CA, and in a handful of libraries across the country. Both of Katey’s books received 5 star staff editor reviews from YA Book Central and one was chosen as their “featured’ indie novel. She was selected as a featured YA author for Young Entertainment Magazine’s Twitter takeover. Katey is very active on social media. She received over 77K views for one of her promotional videos, and has a loyal following of teen/YA “bookstagrammers”. Katey is a master of eloquently writing about big issue topics like depression, trauma, and mental illness. She uses writing as a cathartic form of therapy for herself. When she isn’t writing, she can be found at a local concert or being cozy at home with her husband and two cats.
