gina Breedlove calls herself an abolitionist for the lost parts of the self. She is a grief and joy doula, a guide for the soul’s journey. Over the past 30 years, she has traveled all over the world performing in concerts and musical theater and holding rituals to move grief and reclaim joy. Over time, she has developed a reputation as a gifted healer and guide to help people find their way to healing.

Breedlove is  a vocalist, composer, actor, and traditional sound healer from Brooklyn, New York. She provides private sound healing sessions, sound healing circles, mentoring, and mediation. In 2011, she created Vibration of Grace™, Healing through Sound. gina has used this specific ritual with thousands of people nationally and internationally, helping them to understand, deepen, and rediscover their power. Her sound healing circles are attended by people from divergent backgrounds, traditions, socioeconomic realities, and gender identities. In April 2020, she offered a sound circle on Zoom that was attended by people from three continents, six countries, and ten states. She also works with activists on the frontline of the Movement for Black Lives, transgender justice, reproductive justice, and leaders of organizations that support global healing justice. The first two weeks of June, 2020, during the daily marching and protesting in response to the death of George Floyd, gina held daily half-hour virtual sound sessions for young activists.

gina collaborates with renowned dharma teacher Rev. Angel Kyodo Williams, Center for Whole Communities, Auburn Seminary, Acorn Center for Liberation and Freedom, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. She has been invited to bring her medicine to Omega Institute, Othering & Belonging Conference, Afropunk, Move to End Violence, and BYP100. She is also considered an elder in the LGBTQIA community, and she mentors young queer healers. She spent seven years headlining at the Michigan Womyn’s festival, and offering private sound healing session work while on that land. She is a current board member of the nonprofit organization Wisdom and Money, which works with wealthy people around resources and spirituality. She is also a co-founder and Wellness Director of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) company, reTHINC. In 2020, she received a grant from the Solidaire Foundation to offer reproductive justice healing in Georgia. She received a “Lives of Commitment” Award from the social justice and multifaith organization Auburn Seminary, where she has also been selected to be part of the third cohort of the Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle.

As a young vocalist, gina went on tour with the legendary Harry Belafonte when she was 20. Shortly after, she originated the role of Sarabi for the Broadway production of “The Lion King”. She has worked as an actor and sound healer on two Spike Lee sets, “Chi-Raq” and “Living the Dream”. As a touring musician, gina performs to sold out concerts from Rwanda to Oakland. She has created two CDs of original music: “Open Heart,” in 2010, and “Language of Light,” 2013. Both records continue to receive airplay. She is in the process of recording a new CD, “The Star”.
